Kuehne+Nagel Sea Logistics Operational Care Team Leader in Detroit, Michigan

Your Role
Reporting to the Sea Logistics Operational Care Manager, Revenue Care. you will supervise and coordinate a team of Operations Specialists within the Operational Care Center (OCC). They are the expert in operational processes and drive a team in order to provide first-class services according to the global and regional Sea Freight standards. The Operations Team Lead ensures that the team follows the procedures for the activities and services in scope and is adhering to agreed Key Performance Indicators.
Your Responsibilities
Develop and support a team in order to assure committed quality of operations services.
Provide assignments/task list to team members.
Act as a first point of contact when responding to escalations and support emails.
Investigate loss file reporting.
Maintain surplus tasks for any team member(s) as needed.
Actively communicate with team members on group and individual level with aim to build positive teamatmosphere, motivation and results (e.g. team meetings, 1:1 discussions).
Maintain consistent communication with branch team members daily.
Assure that team executes tasks with expected level of productivity & performance and evaluateemployees’ performance and growth together with Operations Supervisor & Manager and triggeractions for improvement and development if needed.
Understand and support team with any systematic issues that have been established and documented.
Contribute to, as well as drive continuous improvement initiatives of the current team and Operational Care Center overall.
Regular alignment with Operations Management on proper KPI/productivity reporting and other reportsapplicable.
Awareness of and adherence to QSHE (Quality, Safety & Health, Environment, Security & DangerousGoods) programs.
Your Skills and Experiences
Ability to delegate and coordinate team workload
Strong knowledge of sea freight transportation
1 Year of experience at the Operational Care Center
Education/Experience – Minimum High School Degree/Diploma
Travel – 20% domestic
