Your Role
You are in charge of overseeing the Contract Logistics business in Belgium. This involves coordinating all activities related to People, Customers, and Operations across six fulfillment centers in the country. The centers under your leadership are highly automated and have approximately 1,000 employees and 350,000 square meters of warehouse space.
Your Responsibilities
Ensure operational excellence across all sites to maximize efficiency and effectiveness in line with customer agreements and KPIs, providing exceptional customer service at every stage of the customer life cycle;
Prepare for and participate in customer meetings and Quarterly Business Reviews with key customers to drive the implementation of necessary actions and improvements;
Expand the current customer base through effective relationship management and collaboration with relevant internal functions, focusing on retaining existing customers and increasing volume and services;
Promote commercial growth by optimizing existing space and creating business opportunity proposals in coordination with our business development team;
Take ownership of month-end closing activities, including customer invoicing, performance tracking against targets, and cost management;
Provide support for the monthly Profit and Loss forecasting process;
Manage the business's finances, with a focus on gross profit through comprehensive knowledge of rates, costs, and accurate reporting;
Lead and take responsibility for the development of your team and further cultivate your team of senior contract logistics experts into a high-performing unit.
Your Skills and Experiences
At least 10 years of successful managerial experience in a logistics environment, which is 5 years preferably in a similar/same position;
You have an affinity with technology, automation, Lean, and/or Operational Excellence;
You have great people- and communication skills;
You are solution and result-oriented;
You have strong analytical skills;
You have excellent customer relationship skills;
You are fluent in English. Besides, Dutch and French are a plus.
